SGC Master Server – User Manual
Welcome to the SGC Master Server documentation. This control system brings your Stargate Command gateroom to life, managing everything from emergency lockdowns to personnel access. Whether you’re running a military roleplay base or a sci-fi themed venue, this guide will help you configure your facility exactly how you want it.
The SGC Master Server integrates with ASN (Milkyway & Pegasus) and Novum Stargates, providing centralized control over iris shields, power systems, blast doors, and the iconic Code 9 emergency protocol. With flexible permission levels and an optional keycard system, you can create anything from a public museum to a secure military installation.

Keycard System
The keycard system provides a more granular access control mechanism.
Enabling Keycards
- Click the server
- Select Settings
- Click Keycard Toggle
How Keycard Verification Works
- When a user without list access attempts to use a controlled feature, the system checks for their keycard
- The keycard must be issued by this server (matching provider ID)
- The keycard’s group key (wearer’s active group) must be in the server’s group list, OR
- If level checking is enabled, the keycard level must meet the required level
Issuing a Keycard
- Click the server
- Select Users
- Select Give Keycard
- Choose a nearby avatar from the list
- Select the keycard level (1-5)
- The keycard will be rezzed and transferred to the user
Revoking a Keycard
- Click the server
- Select Settings
- Click Revoke Keycard
- Wait for nearby keycards to be scanned
- Select the user whose keycard should be revoked
Revoked keycards can still be updated to enable them back.
Updating a Keycard Level
- Click the server
- Select Settings
- Click Update Keycard
- Wait for nearby keycards to be scanned
- Select the user to update
- Choose the new level (1-5)
Include User List Option
When enabled, users who are in the User List will bypass keycard checks entirely. When disabled, even listed users must present a valid keycard.
Gateroom Interactions
The server manages access to various gateroom control panels and switches.
Code 9 (Emergency Lockdown)
- Toggles the facility emergency lockdown
- Triggers alarms and security protocols
- Can be activated via Code 9 button or palm scanner
Iris/Shield Override
- Raises or lowers the Stargate iris/shield
- Shield will automatically lower after 200 seconds if no one is in the area
Power Switch
- Controls facility power
- Sends power on/off commands to connected systems
- Power will automatically restore if no one is in the area
Palm Scanner
- If Code 9 is active: Deactivates Code 9
- If Code 9 is inactive: Toggles the shield
Blast Door Control (C3-L)
- Controls access to blast doors
- Requires appropriate permission level
Gateroom Tools/Weapons
- Controls weapon systems and tools in the gateroom
- Requires appropriate permission level
Automatic Safety Features
The server includes automatic safety resets:
Area Check Timer
When certain features are active (shield raised, power off, or Code 9), the server periodically checks for avatars within 96 meters.
If no avatars are detected:
- Raised shields are automatically lowered
- Power is automatically restored
- Code 9 is automatically deactivated
This prevents the facility from being left in a locked-down state when everyone leaves.
Troubleshooting
Server Not Responding to Stargate
- Verify you selected the correct network (ASN/Novum)
- Check if the Stargate is within 100 meters
- Verify ownership settings match your setup
Access Denied Despite Being on User List
- Ensure your name is in the correct format (firstname.lastname)
- Check if Same Group is enabled and you’re wearing the correct group
- Verify the permission level for the specific interaction
Keycard Not Working
- Ensure the keycard was issued by this specific server
- Check if the keycard’s group key is in the server’s group list
- Verify level requirements if level checking is enabled
Reset the Server
If you need to start fresh:
- Take the server into inventory
- Rez it again
- The setup wizard will restart
Alternatively, changing ownership will automatically reset all settings.
